About Exploring Georgia
Exploring Georgia is a fun and fascinating look at the story of the Peach State. This curriculum will help you deepen your appreciation for the state with these three volumes:
The Story of Georgia by Ray Notgrass contains 75 lessons divided into fifteen units of five lessons each. These lessons survey the history of the state from the Native Americans to the 21st century. They also provide information on the government, culture, and people of Georgia. Also included are 155 suggested enrichment activities.
The Student Workbook by Charlene Notgrass provides 190 learning activities to reinforce the history lessons. It contains creative writing, coloring, map studies, drawing, grammar activities, matching, word scrambles, secret codes, and Bible study. This only supplies needed to complete the activities are The Story of Georgia history text, a pencil, colored pencils, and a Bible.
The Field Trip Guide by Mary Evelyn Notgrass is packed with 1,675 entries that you can use year after year with students of all ages. The guide has four parts, a county-by-county guide to the sites in Georgia; sections for subjects such as music, Native Americans, the Civil War, science and technology, and many more; sites are arranged according to the units in Exploring Georgia; and list of over 300 events and festivals offered throughout the state, listed by month.
Enjoy Exploring Georgia at your own pace. You can read one lesson per day (five lessons per week) from The Story of Georgia, and then complete the worksheets that go along with that lesson. At this pace, you can complete the material in one semester. Or, you may want to read only two or three lessons per week and spread the activities out over a two week period. Throw in a field trip every week or two, and you will have a fun year-long study! Children of all ages can enjoy studying the material together with their parents. We designed it especially for students age 10 and up.

What Parents Are Saying
"After spending time with the GA history curriculum I purchased from you, I can't wait to get started! I originally thought that I wouldn't have my 13 year old do the workbook (I thought it might be too young for him--and I was going to save it for one of my others coming up) but I have since changed my mind! It looks like a lot of fun and I do think it will reinforce vocabulary, people, etc. So I'll be buying more workbooks in the future! The field trip guide is a TREASURE for anyone who lives in GA!! We were trying to find a fort to visit for another study and didn't know of any close by--I now have a guide with forts listed, some quite close to me! I really appreciate the way the guide is laid out with the different sections--counties, months, units in the curriculum, etc. It couldn't be better! Thanks for making such great products!! I'm looking forward to future ones!!" -- Milledgeville, GA
"I just want to thank you so much for the incredible amount of time and effort that you put into writing the Georgia History study. My friend and I are getting ready to start it with our children and as I was preparing today I was overwhelmed with thankfulness for you! You have made my job so much easier and I am so excited to start this with my children!" -- Dacula, GA
"I just have to let you know how much we are enjoying the Exploring Georgia curriculum! What a wonderful idea. I have let several other families know about it as well. The field trip guide makes it a particularly awesome program to use." -- Tucker, GA
