 The Model Family is a 13-week family Bible study designed to help people of different ages study the Bible together in a family Bible class, home Bible study, or house church setting. The lessons in this study look at some of the essential characteristics of the relationship between the Father and the Son. These characteristics are applied to human families and to the church so that we can see how we are to live in godly relationships with one another. Families, couples, and singles can use the Bible studies, discussion ideas, and activities to deepen their family and church relationships and make them more like the perfect oneness that God and Jesus share.

The Model Family is a great tool for family Bible classes and house churches. When families study the Bible together, it helps them realize the need to put their faith into practice, fathers learn to interact with their children on a spiritual level, and they redeem in a valuable way some of the precious time God gives. Individual families can also benefit by using the study at home.
Each family should have its own copy of the Study Guide, and each child should have his or her own copy of the Children's Workbook. Your class can meet in a den or living room or in a comfortable class room at your church building. The books contain additional suggestions for using the study in your church or small group. "After doing the Model Family study, we went back through the book and made a family poster of some of the Bible verses mentioned in the study to remind us daily of how to live like 'the model family.' Then each day the children picked a Bible verse from the poster and made a decorative picture or a song of the verse. They could be as creative as they wanted so they ended up making some of them flags, some are 3D, some have straws or glitter, and some are written in code or have symbolic drawings that needed interpretation! We then hung them on the kitchen pantry door and area since we are there 3-5 times a day! We do our best to use them as 'correction' or guidance to each other when one of us is doing something that goes against that verse.
