"My daughter likes the pictures and that it's not filled with boring facts and dates. We were looking for a curriculum that gives a good, solid overview of American history without being boring, and we found it in America the Beautiful. We like how each day covers a different aspect of the timeframe being discussed. I've never found a history curriculum for younger students that didn't involve lots of 'mom' time in planning and implementing. History curricula range from literature based to textbook. The literature based programs would leave me frustrated because I couldn't find the books at the library and there always seemed to be gaps. Textbooks not only put me to sleep but took the 'story' out of history. America the Beautiful, however, is somewhat of a textbook but with the 'story' included. A Record of the Learning Lifestyle
