Gods and Generals
Jeff Shaara

I wanted to like this book since I liked the movie so much. It has interesting historical information at the beginning and end, and the story has notable moments. The final battle at Chancellorsville and the death of Thomas Jackson provided a fitting climax. However, the stilted writing style made reading uncomfortable, expletives were too frequent, and bouncing among several main characters was sometimes frustrating.
